Blossom Birth is looking for a bookkeeper/accounting intern or
volunteer for the summer (preferably June 1 to September 14).
Depending on skills, experience, and interest, the position could be
1 to 3 days/week; flexible hours available, including the
possibility of partial work from home.
After training, the intern will be responsible for typical accounting duties:
processing cash receipts and disbursements, tracking financial transactions
in Quickbooks, managing our monthly employee payroll and independent
contractor payments, preparation of ad hoc and regular financial
reports including the month end Statement of Financial Position and
Statement of Activity, and completing 'end of period' bookkeeping
duties including but not limited to, month end balancing and adjusting
general journal entries, shared cost allocations and monthly
reconciliation of bank statements.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with good written and
oral communication skills, proficiency in excel, detail orientation,
and the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
While some previous experience in bookkeeping is preferred,
training is provided.
