Epitomics, Inc. is a fast-growing biotech company located in Burlingame, close to SFO, with a large operation in Hangzhou, China. We are dedicated to developing breakthrough monoclonal antibody technology (RabMAb) for research, diagnostics and therapeutics.



Controller ??????? reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Controller will manage the department providing information, primarily financial in nature, about all Company activities that will assist management, its shareholders and other users in making educated economic decisions about the Company??????s future. Provides financial planning and control services through a professional staff, including analyzing financial results, applying generally accepted accounting principles, controlling budgets, and generating reports on revenues, backlog, profitability, etc. Candidate/incumbent will supervise two or more personnel in the accounting staff.



Qualifications and Capabilities

?????? Strong analytical and communication skills

?????? Some Mandarin and knowledge of Chinese GAAP helpful

?????? Able to work effectively and pro-actively under tight deadlines. Creatively solve problems



Experience

?????? Candidate/incumbent should have a minimum of a Bachelor??????s degree (or equivalent) in Accounting or Finance

?????? CPA certification with 5+ years of accounting managerial experience

?????? Working in an independent office environment, knowledge of the Biotech industry, and strong management experience in a complex multi-process oriented environment

?????? Ability to understand, organize and supervise staff to work concurrently on several projects

?????? Strong technical knowledge GAAP issues relating to revenue recognition and inventory costing

?????? Experience of international operations, particularly China, and manufacturing

?????? Attentive to detail, flexible, open to suggestions, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills

?????? Able to interact with staff from multiple departments and China offices





Responsibilites



?????? Manage accounting function with responsibilities for revenue accounting, accounts receivable, internal reporting, general ledger and consolidations, project accounting, accounts payable and payroll.

?????? Technical accounting expertise and interpretation of revenue recognition rules

?????? Participate in the managing service revenue contracts, and provide advice on revenue recognition issues for on-going revenue transactions.

?????? Analysis of accounts including appropriate reserve analysis and suggestions for improvements for tighter internal controls.

?????? Responsible for the development and preparation of monthly management reports and quarterly Board packages.

?????? Primary contact for liaison with external auditors. Supervise preparation of audit schedules and audit follow-up.

?????? Cost accounting experience helpful to set up appropriate reserve, monthly gross profit margin analysis, and standard cost determination.

?????? Financial analysis for timely business discussions

?????? Provide to Vice President of Finance with financial analysis for ongoing and future projects
