eMeter is looking for an Oracle Database Administrator who will contribute to the growth and support of eMeter Operations team. The qualified candidate will have 3-6 years experience in a fast paced environment, and fully versed in the maintenance, support and tuning of Oracle 8i and 9i databases. Responsibilities:

• Day to Day maintenance and operation of Key Production / Test Customer Databases

• Monitoring and achieving maximum database performance

• Responsible for all Backup and Recovery processes

• Database administration, tuning and support for application systems

• Establish and enforce standards and controls to ensure the integrity and security of the data resources both internal and external.

• Provide 24/7 support for development and testing databases





Required Skills / Key Experience and Characteristics:



• 3-6 years Oracle DBA experience, 2 of which in a 24/7/365 production environment

• Oracle Performance Tuning Experience

o Experience using SQL: Structure, Tunning and optimization

o Experience using OEM, Statspack and other performance tuning tools.

• Experience with RMAN, and Disaster Recovery Procedures

• Linux Administration Skills (Other Unix platforms desired but not required)

• Knowledge of OFA standards

• Unix scripting skills

• Excellent Communication Skills, both written and verbal

• Demonstrated knowledge of storage strategies and data distribution

• In depth knowledge of Oracle database architecture including memory structures, sizing and tuning parameters

• Thorough understanding of SQL and PL/SQL with the ability to debug and tune as necessary



This position requires a person who is a self-starter; professional, friendly, and reliable with a customer service minded, friendly attitude. The candidate should be a good communicator with an eye for detail. Must demonstrate an ability to be proactive with ‘take the ball and run’ approach.



This position requires 24 x 7 coverage and response to system alerts during “on-call” periods.
