eMeter is looking for an Oracle Database Administrator who will contribute to the growth and support of eMeter Operations team. The qualified candidate will have 3-6 years experience in a fast paced environment, and fully versed in the maintenance, support and tuning of Oracle 8i and 9i databases. Responsibilities:

?????? Day to Day maintenance and operation of Key Production / Test Customer Databases

?????? Monitoring and achieving maximum database performance

?????? Responsible for all Backup and Recovery processes

?????? Database administration, tuning and support for application systems

?????? Establish and enforce standards and controls to ensure the integrity and security of the data resources both internal and external.

?????? Provide 24/7 support for development and testing databases





Required Skills / Key Experience and Characteristics:



?????? 3-6 years Oracle DBA experience, 2 of which in a 24/7/365 production environment

?????? Oracle Performance Tuning Experience

o Experience using SQL: Structure, Tunning and optimization

o Experience using OEM, Statspack and other performance tuning tools.

?????? Experience with RMAN, and Disaster Recovery Procedures

?????? Linux Administration Skills (Other Unix platforms desired but not required)

?????? Knowledge of OFA standards

?????? Unix scripting skills

?????? Excellent Communication Skills, both written and verbal

?????? Demonstrated knowledge of storage strategies and data distribution

?????? In depth knowledge of Oracle database architecture including memory structures, sizing and tuning parameters

?????? Thorough understanding of SQL and PL/SQL with the ability to debug and tune as necessary



This position requires a person who is a self-starter; professional, friendly, and reliable with a customer service minded, friendly attitude. The candidate should be a good communicator with an eye for detail. Must demonstrate an ability to be proactive with ??????take the ball and run?????? approach.



This position requires 24 x 7 coverage and response to system alerts during ??????on-call?????? periods.
