*Description*

The Direct Technology team, a new product-oriented group under ESD, is looking to hire an individual to assist with the day-to-day tasks of maintaining a newly-launched website. The intern will make content updates to the site (e.g., copy editing, adding/removing PDFs for download, some graphic design work, basic site maintenance). Given the nature of this work, the intern could work remotely within SRI policies; however, it is important that the person is local to the peninsula area to allow occasional in-person meetings at SRI's Menlo Park office.

The website will go live in mid-May, at which time the position will begin

and probably require 5-10 hours per week. Once the site is established, the time requirement will likely slow to 0-2 hours per week, depending on the week. Even though the anticipated workload will not be enormous, it is critical that the intern be responsive to requests and have an extremely proactive work ethic. The position would be ideally suited for an undergraduate student in computer science, web/interactive arts, or related academic program, who would like to supplement his or her income by

supporting one of the best companies in the Bay Area.

The CMS to be used is Expression Engine, and strong preference will go to applicants with demonstrated EE experience. Most of the intern's assignments would be made through email, and it would be expected that the intern checks email very regularly on Mondays through Fridays. There is no scheduled end-date for this position, and successful performance could lead to other, more challenging opportunities at SRI.

*Qualifications:*

Progress towards a BS or equivalent with demonstrated website maintenance experience.

Experience with production of professional presentations, performances or videos, as well as group coordination of these tasks, strongly desired. Demonstrated experience with Expression Engine; graphic art skills (e.g., Adobe Flash, Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, etc); and/or computer science/programming skills (PHP, MySQL, etc)is preferred. Links to online work preferred.

*Other:*

Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Compensation: $20/hr
