Pre-VC funding start-up looking for a strong senior software engineer to help improve our product, raise VC funding, and build a great company.
We are looking for a technology founder with a passion for solving business problems and is fanatical about creating great user experiences on the web.
You must be a senior software developer with at least 5 years programming experience.
The alpha site is built using PHP, Flex 3, MySQL and Apache in a FreeBSD environment. The current site represents the first half of the end-product.
The second half is the build out of the online marketplace. Your goal is to help take us to the next phases of our product. This may mean refactoring or even re-writing the code base if it makes sense.
Your compensation would be a modest stipend and a healthy ownership stake in the company. Once funded, you would become a salaried employee.
Experience
Must Have
* Must be passionate about UI design, usability, and providing a rich user experience.
* At least 5 years experience designing and implementing web-based applications.
* Minimum of 4 years programming in PHP
* Minimum of 4 years doing gatabase design and MySQL
* Minimum of 2 years programming Adobe Flex. 1 year of Flex 3 programming is a Plus.
* Very strong HTML, XML, JavaScript, CSS and other web-based technologies.
* Experience with web authentication and security.
* Experience implementing Credit Card and other Payment transaction systems.
Nice to Have
* Experience with Agile software development methodology
* Experience working in a FreeBSD development environment a plus.
* Experience building successful applications that involve: social networking, social media, blogging, lifestreaming, etc.
* Have some experience working with social network??????s API and data portability protocols (Facebook Connect, OpenSocial, Twitter, etc.)
General
* Must be a self starter and have a founder's mindset
* Very hands-on person, willing to dive in and take charge.
* Must be able to deliver on commitments and deadlines.
* Ability to be creative, efficient and productive with minimal supervision or guidance.
* Great attitude & sense of humor.
